Inspire
by the draping aesthetic of Batman’s Cape as well as the free flow dynamics of
any fabric materials; I wanted to create a piece of furniture that plays with
the dichotomy of softness against hardness. This object has to be highly
functional and customizable while it should also deceive the user on its actual
nature and conceal itself as a sculpture in any large open space. The cape
crusader furniture system’s functionality is completely dependent on the user’s
imagination. Constructed out of an internal wooden structure clad with any type
of fabric or felt the system mimics the flowing movement of softness. Once users
and objects are placed upon the design the sculptural element of the system
gives way to the actual function of the design and as different objects are
places upon it, the aesthetic of the design changes according to different
user’s personality!
