Are you a 29er? A hammer head? Ride hardtail or fully suspended? Cycling has a language all its own, and Cannondale speaks it. Not only passionate about building the best high-performance bikes and gear, Cannondale’s goal is to create a total cycling experience. Their new retail store needed to break the old bike shop mold and celebrate the manufacturer’s 21st-century technology. And although you can still get your derailleurs adjusted, the focus of this store is on design.
The Bergmeyer design team had Cannondale’s core customer in mind: the athletic, well-informed, technologically-savvy cyclist. With colors and materials that reinforce Cannondale’s logo and placing extra emphasis on Cannondale clothing, the store introduces customers to cycling as a lifestyle. Merchandise categories are sorted by equipment category: mountain bike, road bike, urban commuter, women, and children, and each features a full collection of products and gear for each type of enthusiast. Made from powder-coated fiberglass and rubber, even the custom fixtures support the brand’s design philosophy.
Front and center in the store is an interactive bike fitting system called GURU that allows cyclists to select a cycle to meet their exact riding posture and power output. And with interactive kiosks and a lounge within a short sprint of the obligatory repair shop, the total lifestyle experience is complete.
