Constructed as part of the Massachusetts Highway Department $53 million Sagamore Rotary Fly-over Project, the new Visitor Center anchors a new commuter parking area and provides public restrooms and an outstanding multifunctional information center for tourists and commuters at the entrance to Cape Cod. Designed to mimic a lighthouse gallery, the center features terrazzo flooring, Douglas fir cabinetry, vaulted ceilings, and the most up to date internet and multimedia information systems for public use. The center opened in June of 2009 and cost $1.7 million.
