Sequoia Lake includes over 743 acres in the Giant Sequoia forest between Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks. Five rustic summer camps were built around a large lake, after the property was purchased in 1922. They include Camp Sequoia, Camp Gains, Camp Redwood, Camp Millwood, and Camp Tulequoia. The land is owned by the Sequoia Lake Conference of YMCAs and the camps have been operated by several local YMCA’s. The creation of the Golden State YMCA this past year has consolidated the operation of all 5 camps under one YMCA.
We were contracted by the YMCA to develop a comprehensive Master Plan for the entire property based on the vision and development objectives of the organization.
