Camp Everhappy
San Juan Islands, WA | Adaptive Reuse, Residential, Net-Zero
McLennan Design led the renovation of the off-grid Camp Everhappy retreat, transforming a 1970s prefabricated cabin—airlifted into place by helicopter—into a regenerative, self-sufficient sanctuary. The 700 sf cabin preserves its original aviation-inspired character while integrating modern systems for net-positive energy and water, solar power, battery storage, rainwater harvesting, and high-efficiency lighting. Interior updates include a custom kitchen, new sleeping areas, and natural-material finishes, creating a resilient, elegant, and fully off-grid seasonal retreat.
