CAMAÇARI BUILDINGS

Popular Winner, 2016 A+Awards, Concepts - Architecture +Rendering
STATUS
Concept
A condominium of 60 apartments, facing the Camaçari beach, in Salvador, Bahia. The final concept per block of apartments was acquired overlaying and moving 6 rectangles, thereby providing privacy without losing the view. The condominium has a private club, swimming pool, gourmet space, employee?s space and parking space. Respecting the natural environment, all the native vegetation was preserved as the people circulation is made using suspended wooden decks (native wood from Salvador) 40 cm above the vegetation. The existent trees were preserved. The top of the building has solar panels to provide electricity from the sun. The sides of the buildings are coated with a "green wall" to provide better thermal comfort as the sun in Bahia is very aggressive. The side of the staircases has vertical wooden panels (native wood from Salvador) to give more privacy and thermal comfort. The water from the rain is reused to irrigate the "green walls" and for the toilet flush.
