The Caisson Cir. Garage and Studio project was designed as a dual-purpose space, combining a single-car garage alongside a single-car carport with an upper-level studio and office that seamlessly blends with the existing home and natural surroundings. The structure was crafted to feel both private and connected to the outdoors, serving as a personal retreat while maintaining harmony with the main residence’s style. Through thoughtful design iterations, we developed a mid-century farmhouse aesthetic, integrating a spacious wrap-around deck along with limestone and cedar finishes that beautifully complement the home’s natural appeal.
Positioning the structure was essential for its integration with the landscape. It was carefully oriented to create an inviting entryway while preserving as much of the existing vegetation as possible. Retaining these natural elements gives the studio a unique “tree-house” feel, allowing for a serene, elevated space to work or relax surrounded by nature on the upper deck.
This project presented several unique challenges, including steep topography and discrepancies in setback requirements due to outdated city records. Our team skillfully addressed these complexities with strategic planning and close collaboration with city inspectors, ensuring all design adjustments adhered to local building codes. The result is a structure that harmonizes with the landscape, balancing form and function in equal measure.
Execution was flawlessly carried out by RedOven Property Solutions, who brought exceptional craftsmanship to the build.
