Cafe 'Alter Bahnhof' in Gangelt

15, Hanxler Street, Gangelt, Germany

YEAR
2013
As we started
working on the project, we hat one aim - to recover the original glory of that
historical building, making it attractive for visitors in a different way. The
unique space was brought back to life due to the good aesthetic sensibility and
the impressive reconstruction of the whole first floor.
The interior
was designed abiding by
the motto „back to the roots”. Furnishing the space was done with a balanced
combination of well-known old railway station objects and high- quality, fashionable
seating. Red leather upholstered seats, which remind of former seating bench in
a train, contrast to the simple, minimalist, present day chairs. The entrance on the other hand is
designed in the style of the 20s with an original wood bench. A coatrack and an
historical suitcase with the menu card in addition complete the whole build.
All elements work together and create a striking visual impact; the final
result is a bold, livable interior with clear identity.
And the train
ride can now begin…
