MikeViktorViktor wins plot in Cadix neighborhood, Antwerp. The open competition organized by AG Vespa for the first new development on the Eilandje, Antwerpen has drawn quite a bit of interest. MikeViktorViktor teamed up with ONO, Bovenbouw and Inarco for a joined proposal for the four parcels.
MikeViktorViktor and ONO have been awarded one of the four parcels. The new development consists of different housing typologies, targeting a range of inhabitants. The location near the newly developed quays at the Kattendijkdok, the MAS and its proximity to the centre of Antwerp is absolutely fabulous.
The building on the right is MikeViktorViktor's proposal. The collective housing consists of fourteen units, ranging in size and typology. The building is characterised by extra high ceilings, an abundance of light through the large windows, an exceptional care for detail and luxurious materials. The building has a plinth in natural green granite stone and a green glazed brickwork body. The upper floor is made with mosaic tiles. The facades, both front and back, have steel balconies reminiscent of the warehouse typologies found in the neighbourhood.
At the rear, the building adjoins a beautiful lush collective garden.
