A business center “The Corner” is located at the intersection of two streets. A characteristic feature of the location is the intersection of one street at an acute angle to another.. The surrounding buildings have different construction’ periods, styles and heights (9-6-3-2 floors). These factors became the basis for the formation of the building. The building reacts with terraces to the height of neighboring buildings. Cutting off parts of the volume, which forms acute-angled terraces, forms a unique image of the building.
The site is included in the complex historical zone and has clear requirements and restrictions on the height of the building.
Another challenge was to ensure accessibility for visitors to the first floors by using the existing active relief. Before the construction began, this area was unsuitable for pedestrians due to the existing gas chamber located in the pedestrian zone. As part of the project, the engineering structure was lowered to create unhindered movement of people along the sidewalk.
The facades are made of clinker brick and metal cassettes.. Brick is present in the surrounding historical buildings and connects the new object with the context. 3D brickwork is made оn the vertical pylons of the acute corner - as a culmination of the perception of the object. Brass metal cassettes used on the upper floors of the building and in the entrance groups. They are a reference to the industrial city that is Dnipro. This region has the largest deposits of iron ore and is known for its ability to work with metal.
The entrance areas are recessed to maximize the sidewalk area and make a clear zoning of the pedestrian part - with separated transit and green areas, entrance zone, parking.
The building has its own transformer substation, a floor-by-floor supply and exhaust ventilation system with heat recovery. For this, special niches were made in the facade. The rain gardens were made, as a part of the landscaping, to collect and accumulate rainwater.
