The
goal is to create a
building with a Co2 neutral footprint, the approach is to create a
rooftop garden approx the same size as the building footprint and
furthermore using the concrete structure as a Co2 stock, which will
reduce the emission of Co2 to the atmosphere.
Another
feature is solar cells (photovoltaic’s) integrated in the roof,
this will reduce the amounted of energy the building consumes.
The
building takes on an organic shape, this is to create a building
white its own language and optimize the view to the LED screen which
are integrated in the facade towards east, south and west.
The
central core of the building is a panopticon that stretches from the
bottom to the top.
Besides
using this room as foyer in ground level it works as a part of the
natural ventilation.
The
ambition towards natural ventilation has been piloting for the shape
of the house, this vertical space is a key feature supporting natural
ventilation.
Air
is “drawn” from small windows mounted in the facade, the air is
coming in above
the
suspended ceiling, where it interact with the concrete structure,
this is cooling down the air, because of the suspended ceiling the
air is spread over a wider area and will slowly penetrate through the
ceiling, this will minimize eventual unpleasant draught.
The
main cooling of the building is done by thermo active constructions,
such as cooling and heating tubes are cast in to the concrete slabs
on each level and for each level divide in to four different zones,
this will have the benefit that I would be possible to regulate the
temperature individually.
The
north façade is partly covered by a vertical garden, this is for
shading and cooling purpose, CO2 balance and to create a new habitat
for flora and fauna and to stress the buildings green profile
visually to the surroundings.
