The achitectural project of "Bursa Academic Chambers Association Building" is the winner project of an architectural project competition which was held in 2005.The competition team consists of Dogan Umit Yucel, Cigdem Yucel, Banu Bayrak and Tolga Turunc.
The building offers a base of interactive involvement on several platforms to its occupants by the help of social and cultural spaces such as auditorium, conference hall, foyer-exhibition hall, restaurant cafe as well as office spaces of chambers.
The most important design principle was to generate an affiliative, democratic and social living space in which all chambers and broad masses would be together. The project was handled with a space composition that searches for sharing, mutual belonging and identity.
When design process have worries about cultural sustainability, social dimensions become more important. Causing a space to gain this consciousness and sensitivity is one of the main goals. In this context, academic chambers have had more excessive and different content than collection of individual academic chambers.
By the concept project which forced the chambers to make concessions from their identities, to transform themselves into objects, subject was concluded with a revolution to a superior subject. With this idea, the project required to change the meaning of this cooperation by going beyond the space composition.
The building of Bursa Academic Chambers Association settles on an area of 6773, 75 m². Its total construction area is 30550 m² and it is composed of basement and four floors in four units. There is a parking area on first and second basement floors with the capacity of 364 vehicles, a multi-purpose hall and a restaurant-cafe on the ground floor, an auditorium for 600 persons on the first floor and 15 offices on first, second and third floors.
It is the unique attempt in Turkey in terms of collaboration of different chambers.
