This project is a weekend retreat for an individual who lives in Brooklyn, NY. The site, located near Lake Nockamixon, is 17 acres of partially wooden property with 2 large ponds. A good portion of the property is meadow with hills that gently slope towards the pond. The owner of the property desires to use the property as a weekend retreat and looks to construct the most minimal structure to allow him to live comfortably. The intent is not to be a pioneer but rather to live comfortably with the most minimal impact on the site.
The 330 SF design employs a single room concept that can be used in a multitude of ways. The only closed spaces are a bathroom and a small closet type space that will act as a voice-over recording booth. The building is positioned to provide privacy from the driveway while maximizing the views to the ponds
