This installation
is a temporal fantasy and, as with bubbles, each cell is unique. Its structure
is its skin; its skin its structure-a monocoque. The blue, translucent Plexi
skin has open voids that allow unfiltered light to provide patches of light suitable
for product and item display and to dapple the floor and inhabitants.
Each cell is
parametrically unique replicating the cell structure seen in the accompanying
image of liquid cleaning fluid. The cell walls of bubbles hydro-dynamically form
multi-sided cell structures in relationship to each other within a defined
space. Through a thin, nearly transparent
skin, structural strength is realized.
