Award: best architect 2013
Both cubes be based on a pentagon and be raised over steep terrain as individual buildings made of cast concrete. Material choice and form convey the impression of boulders – in the same time reminiscence and an association of the mine twenty meters below the property. Their distribution and formal design consider sight lines and outlooks in the garden and to the lake. The acute lateral façades visually appear to be shorter and let the four floors to seem smaller. Cuts of terraces, beneath balconies and the recessed attic floor structure the volume, reduce the cubic capacity and create different ground plans. The apartments can be subdivided diversely – from the open plan loft to the six-room apartment.
