The apartment was used as the artist's studio and it was an open space in a condition requiring repair. The architects had the task of adapting the apartment for a comfortable temporary residence for two adults - friends and colleagues of the customer staying in the apartment during visits to Moscow or for rent.
In an effort to preserve the maximum openness, the architects have combined living room with kitchen. The bedroom with a small study is separated. If guests want to stay for the night - a sofa in the living room unfolds.
Features of the project: the desire to fit into a tight budget. Some pieces of furniture in the apartment are IKEA products, the others are custom designed cabinets from plywood. The walls in the rooms are plastered and painted white. The kitchen is contrasting black. Pine boards on the floor was restored and made lighter by using oil. Bus lighting with spotlights and a few simple pendant lights are used to highlight the kitchen and living room.
