Our restoration of R.M. Schindler’s Bubeshko Apartments of 1938-41 focused on the project’s DNA: generative ideas, theories of spatial configuration, and employment of color and material. The work involved probing history, rehabilitating the way in which materials combine with characteristic colors to produce the spatial effects unique to Schindler’s architecture.
