The building is placed in a small piece of land (8,66m x 19.5m) at an irregular block in a mid-density neighbor with lots of green areas, and with the particularity that it has a pretty old Araucaria Tree right in the middle that force as to reflect how to place the building.
The premises in which we worked at the time of projecting the building where the functional-programmatic flexibility of the units and the relationship between the builded perimeter and the empty inside the terrain.
The project has 8 apartment units with a mix of different floor plans that includes studios, 1 bedroom and duplex. The flexibility of each unit makes that the user is the one that defines the space organization and use it as an apartment or as an office, as a studio or as a 1 bedroom. Taking into account of the strong presence of the Araucaria tree, the building is been resolved by combining two different blocks, joined by the vertical circulation elements, forming an L shape, leaving an empty over in which the building can take advantage of a bigger area of lightning and ventilation. One block facing the street with double ventilation units and the other is facing the tree, gaining amazing tree top views.
