The first building completed in Park 20|20, the Netherlands' first Cradle to Cradle®-inspired development, the B/S/H/ building exemplifies the latest in sustainable thinking. The office space features a full-height, four-story atrium with an indoor/outdoor Living Green Wall and a Building Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) roof that maximizes energy acquisition and provides daylighting to showrooms, which can also be converted to offices on an as-needed basis. High efficiency LED lighting, daylight dimming sensors and rooftop solar panels result in integrated systems that perform 53% above conventional building standards, and are 39% more efficient than current code compliant buildings. Interior spaces encourage occupant well-being through individual user controls, fresh air, sunlight and materials assessments to ensure that safe and healthy products are used throughout the building. The first two floors house the Experience Centre where each brand has their own publicly accessible showroom. Additionally, a cooking school and an auditorium are placed nearby to give visitors (consumers and retailers) the complete B/S/H/ experience. The ground floor also houses a restaurant and coffee bar, where employees and visitors can sit and relax or have informal meetings.Office spaces on the two top floors are designed according to the innovative 'new way of working' principle. The space is composed of zones that feature alternative workplaces and flexible use of furniture. Each floor features a hub, or central space where all the community functions such as meeting rooms, coffee corners, concentration spots and informal working and meeting areas are clustered.
