Insulated Concrete Forms are used for all exterior walls from the basement to the ridge. Geothermal heat supplies radiant systems on all (3) floors. 1st floor framing is large Pine milled from the site and upper floors and roof framing are of oak cut from a nearby forest. The design takes much from barn architecture however the result is essentially a traditional New England "story and a half" Colonial with an off center entrance. Interior floors are stone, wood and concrete. Vanity tops are made of blue-stone slabs. A large cupola with operable windows facilitates a natural chimney effect ventilation system cooling the house in the hotter seasons. Ventilation is also provided through a house wide collection and distribution system linked to an HRV/ERV unit.
