This Toronto Annex house renovation was commissioned by a playwright/producer who desired a clean, light, modern space that would remain sympathetic to the charm of the existing turn-of-the-century architecture, without overexposure and a lack of privacy. The project includes a newly expanded third-floor attic, master bedroom and writing study, bathroom and bedroom renovations at the second floor, a new combined kitchen and dining room at the ground level, and rear façade renovations that connect the interior rooms to the outside patio, including extensive built-in millwork. The work was developed in three phases as the client’s family grew.
