PM Architecture has worked on over 25 brownstone renovations in Brooklyn since 2013. The buildings are typically 2-3 stories above basement height, and the scope includes full interior renovation, add a deck and glass wall at the rear, and bringing the stair to the roof and providing a roof deck.
Most of the projects are filed to get a new Certificate of Occupancy for a single-family buildings, and a significant portion of the buildings are in historic districts, necessitating review by the Landmarks Preservation Commission, and public hearings, if the work at the rear and/or the bulkhead is visible from a public thoroughfare.
