The Brooklyner, one of the tallest buildings in Brooklyn at 51 stories, is a mixed-use building designed for The Clarett Group and Equity Residential. The development features 491 residential units, including studio, 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom and loft units; amenities such as a roof deck, terrace, a grilling and picnic area, a billiard room, and a fitness center; street front commercial space; and a 196-car parking garage. Designed as a cast-in-place concrete building with a combination of window wall and colorful metal panels on the east and west facades that are designed in a “basket-weave” aesthetic, the Brooklyner’s concrete facades not only present a strong design statement but also act as structural “shear walls” to resist the wind and lateral forces generated by its height.
