Brooklyn Utopias

YEAR
2009
The shipping pallet – a vital component to the industrial process on which manufactured goods are transferred, is often discarded and
camouflaged in the urban environment. Underused and readily available we envision it as a rapidly renewable resource. Its presence raises
many questions:  What if it becomes part of the city? What if it becomes part of the art? What if they become architecture?
Through design we reconfigure its use while reducing its environmental impact.  We begin to interpret the urban condition through proposals which include: murals/mosaics, urban agriculture structures, rooftop gardens, furniture design / build and exhibition displays for agallery. Simultaneously, the pallet serves as our canvas and our paint.
