At the rear of the existing hotel building the gym was converted and
extended to provide a new entrance and identity for the British Council
information centre and English language classrooms.  A new cantilevered
extension and entry canopy and stair provide a modern welcoming entry.
 Internally a compact space is planned to provide 10 classrooms and
information centre with maximum flexibility of use with folding screens
and lightweight furniture allowing the space to be configured for a
variety of uses and events.  On the 12th floor an open plan office space
provides accommodation for 50 staff and additional meeting rooms and
classrooms.
