Let’s get physical in a digital world
In an increasingly digital world, we believe that the physical experience of space remains indispensable and here at Brigada we are devoted to the transformation of space into a unique experience. Designing spaces that intrigue their users and make them feel good is what drives our everyday work. When confronted with the task of designing our very own stand, we decided to take the same approach and create a distinct spatial experience within less than 5 m2.
The signature red booth is created within a steel cube frame that serves as the structure to hold more than 800 hanging pipes attached to a metal mesh, creating a barrier between the stand’s interior and the outside world. The booth flooring is covered in soft red carpet, in the middle of which is a round mirror. A corresponding mirror is placed in the centre of the upper frame, creating an infinity effect. LED light strips line the upper frame and surround the central mirror.
The experience is centred around the sensory interactions of touch, sight, and sound. Although at first glance visitors are not sure what the booth represents, they are nevertheless intrigued to enter and push their way through the hanging tubes. Once they reach the centre, they find themselves in the middle of the infinity effect of the juxtaposed mirrors, which causes visitors to leave reality even if for just a moment. The tubes create an acoustic effect, creating sounds when knocked into one another as well as blocking out the noise and commotion from the outside world.
