Brick Towers is an experimental project that tests the potentials of digital printing on bricks, redefining how conventional materials are used in construction. The installation features three irregularly shaped towers built from bricks printed with a continuous image, which guides their precise assembly assisting traditional construction documentation methods. This technique reduces the reliance on conventional architectural drawings without high-end technology on the construction site. This project explores new possibilities for one of the oldest construction materials through an innovative design/construction methodology we named Image Aided Construction.
This project was installed in Plaza Santo Domingo in Mexico City in September of 2024 as part of the programming for the Architecture Festival Mextrópoli.
