Retail space is changing: Shopping is now becoming an experience
With the opening of the Department Store Ludwigsburg, DIA – Dittel Architekten has brought to life an exciting shopping experience that covers over 11,000 square meters for the fashion and lifestyle company Breuninger. The architectural redesign seizes upon everything that consumers expect from modern stationary retail: Exclusivity, emotionalization, personalization and a unique quality experience. The aim of the new concept is to offer an exciting and interactive shopping experience.
Online shopping is becoming increasingly competitive with the offline world and pushing traditional retailers to reinvent themselves: Consumers are looking for a unique and individual experience when shopping offline. For this purpose, innovative digital elements and new concepts are being used that result in a symbiosis of online and offline shopping and offer customers an exclusive shopping experience.
The mixed style of industrial chic contrasts with haptically interesting natural materials and puts the consumer inside an urban-modern ambience and ensures a uniform framework. Different areas are accompanied by a color concept in a modern minimalist look, with a focus on individual accents that vary depending on the department. Through noble materials such as natural stone, wood and marble, the sales area presents itself in combination with selected rosé and petrol shades in a high-quality look. This multifunctional design is a reflection of Breuninger's broad product portfolio and its multichannel philosophy.
New concepts developed exclusively for store design create dynamism and modernity: Customers can be inspired by the versatile sales area, the b_place, and experience the occasion through product presentations, image campaigns, or fashion and cultural events. The generously designed space becomes a personal area of inspiration and offers customers a limitless world of experience due to the free placement of modular elements. Individual customer interaction is possible through the use of digital projections and touch screens.
The new b_tailored area extends the shopping experience by way of an exclusive service. Here, customers can tailor products and personalize them according to their wishes. This creates a high-quality stay that is tailored to the needs of the customers.
It once again rings true, guests will be properly pampered here. After the already successful openings in Stuttgart and Düsseldorf, Eduard's customers are invited to come stay awhile at the new bar in Ludwigsburg. The bar has already received a design award for the locations in the Dorotheenquartier in Stuttgart and Düsseldorf and is located in the new area on Ground Floor 2 and offers space for around 50 guests. The seamless connection to the look of the Breuninger Department Store Ludwigsburg is unique and creates an exclusive atmosphere.
