Renovation & extension of shoreside craftsman bungalow. The internal renovation reconfigured and rationalised the homes layout, providing an additional bedroom (3 bedrooms in total) and creating a flowing open plan kitchen dinner / living area. New skylights, inserted throughout the existing structure, maximise daylight on the otherwise cramped site.
The design also sought to accentuate a sense of front and back - accessed via the secluded communal alleyway the front yard was also treated as an additional design component it’s curvilinear forms and meticulously chosen planting complimenting to the traditional craftsman front façade.
with a raised shingle clad volume that houses a primary bedroom suite complete with walk-in wardrobe, shower room and study nook. This new elevated element shelters a new two-vehicle car port which links to the home’s common spaces via a split-level entrance lobby.
