This condominium building project is in a residential neighborhood near the center of Osaka. The building sits within a forested area filled with trees, water, birds, and flowers where one can enjoy a lifestyle living and working in proximity that doesn’t exist in the city center. It is a unique landscape that does not exist in central Osaka. We aimed to create a lifestyle where one can live close to nature while still having the convenience of being close to the city center. The added value created by the forest is employed in the design creating new worth for the residences. We created a living space where you can get the wonderfulness of being both, "In" the forest and "On" the forest.
The main approach on the first floor is called the Forest Entrance.Passing through the arches of the canopy of trees above, and beyond the main entrance, you encounter a corridor with the same fantastical play of light as the forest. The entrance hall is as much as possible open to the forest, creating oneness with the natural forest. A community space sits on the 11th floor, above the forest's 30m high trees and abundant foliage. This space creates encounters between residents while enjoying panoramic views of the forest below and the skyscrapers in the distance. With the themes of Innovation and Creativity influencing the façade design, we hoped to create a new town symbol. This will connect the current landscape of Momoyamadai to future generations. The added benefit of being by Momoyama Park forest is employed in the design, creating new worth for the residences.
