In an ongoing effort to re-brand and strengthen his iconic restaurant identity the eponymous Brandy Ho commissioned, Ted Pratt, Principal/Founder, MTP Architects to design a new location for him. The resulting design is a result of strategic analysis of the site conditions, location in the lively Union Square neighborhood, demographic profile, experimental approach to cuisine and Brandy's own personality. An asymmetrically folded perforated metal screen of multiple shades of red dominates the restaurant and links the programmatic spaces into a whole. This feature wall is dramatically lit with theater lighting incorporating gels and gobos to create a wonder of light and form. The restaurant consists of a drop in Marketplace for casual dining, a bar and full service restaurant and an exhibition kitchen designed for day to day operations and celebrity chef demonstrations.
