This house is in Kanazawa city, Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan.
Kanazawa City has regulations for construction.
It must cherish plants and create an appearance that blends into the surrounding environment.
Thus, I clad the exterior walls with cedar boards, and the environment that allows one to enjoy the expansive view, trees, and beautiful seasonal landscapes extending behind the site gave rise to a tunnel-like design.
The layout features an entrance and study on the road side, and the further back the space becomes more private.
Above is a large open space that resembles a second floor or an attic.
The floor plan prioritized the view.
One large window. That was all I needed.
I extend our gratitude to everyone involved in this building.
