The project is located on a main avenue in the suburbs of Lima where many auto exhibition businesses are located. The client is a representative of Braillard, dedicated to the commercializing of cars. The project consists of a showroom and an auto repair shop developed throughout four levels. The idea was to make the most of the premise by developing the auto repair shop over the retail area with consecutive ramps. On the first level, the exhibition area has been developed, this has been elevated from the street level achieve a better exposure of the automobiles. The size of the premise was a limitation that obliged us to look for creative solutions to achieve that the different car models of the brand could count with all the same facilities to carry out the complete service in accordance with the standard of the French firm. The development of the workshop on the upper levels allowed a larger facade of 15 meters in height that was used to create a grand image for the brand.Even thought there were some conditions of the corporate image, we had much liberty to design an innovative image that allowed the building to have an important presence during the day as well as during the night. The main idea was to create a great exhibition screen that went further than just showing the cars.To accentuate the buildings as a whole, a frame was built in a light gray that allowed to emphasize the framed blue, the corporate color of Braillard. On this facade a glass showcase was proposed to exhibit the models but due to the scale of the facade we were able to develop a much larger showcase that gave an urban scale to the exhibition. To accentuate the building at night, a pattern of fluorescent blue light was exposed over the glass showcase giving it a visual effect that allowed the whole building to emphasize over the premise. The facade is reinforced with lateral blue lighting to create the illusion as a whole of a blue lit box, which as well helped accentuate the showcase of the automobiles lit with a white halogen light. In a way the project pretended to create a giant screen that served as a frame to the different model cars of the Braillard firm. This big screen was designed so that it would have an urban scale and so to act as an urban icon among all the rest of commercial buildings that only looked to exhibit different model brands along the avenue. The materials used has many Alucobond, and aluminium composed slate, and glass together with the lighting artifact from Philips.
