The project develops into two buildings on both sides of the existing site of the Rue du Château d’Or and Chaussée d’Alsemberg.
The largest building (A wing) include forty- seven apartments; the smallest one (B wing) is compose of twenty-one apartments, a multipurpose space occupies it.
The two buildings are set back from the road. This allow us to create a planted areas where can grow up native plants. This distance of the traffic flux permit us to gain visual and acoustic protection. We were choosen to create a garden in the courtyard because we hoped that this space can become a friendly meeting place.
The entries are marked by a white concrete canopy. These are through : firstly to facilitate access for people with reduced mobility (PRM) , and secondly to create a visual breakthrough on the courtyard.
People with reduced mobility (PRM) have an access via the ramp located on the corner of the Rue du Château d’Or and Chaussée d’Alsemberg. All apartments situated on the ground floor are accessible to persons with reduced mobility. Five apartments are specially designed according to the specific needs of PMR in upper floors.
The facades are made by red-dark brown brick and beige insulation coating of the wing A and dark brown color for the wing B.
The top floor is brown painted. These differents colors and textures give an human scale at the project, guaranteeing a rhythmic and dynamic character.
