The creation of the Boulevard Cidade Nova followed the natural revitalization evolution of the area. The project included facades restoration of old houses in advanced state of degradation. The goal was to meet the demand for services to approximately ten thousand people who pass by the surrounds daily, and give life to the area out of the working time.
The scenery of Neri Pine Street, near the New Town, was marked by tumbled nineteenth century mansions that were in a state of degradation.
The idea was the union of old and contemporary, through restorations that created the environment for the new space designed. The New Town Boulevard integrates the streets Neri Pinheiro and Correa Vasques through a square covered by a taut canvas.
The Boulevard Cidade Nova is an initiative to promote entrepreneurship in the region and encourage the development of local trade. Allied to the corporate building Cidade Nova, were also implemented social inclusion programs, providing technical training to local people so they could work.
