Consisting of six independent offices and a banded public space with offices in series, the Botanic Research Centre is located at the edge of Hengshui Botanic Park. The offices face the lake view and the forest, so that the users can enjoy the natural scenery. And the banded public space sits back to the road, inadvertently imply the sense of boundaries and frontality.
Banded Public Space
The banded space connecting independent offices and private public space is core concept to this design. The elongated form of this public space gives it a flexible function. Usually it can be divided into small and functional independent places. And when large venues are needed, the interior furniture and equipment can be rearranged flexibly, freeing up the big space needed to host the event. Huge public space also facilitates dialogues. When people come out of private offices, they immediately immerge into public areas that facilitate conversation with others and facilitate the exchange of user groups. And from the overall design point of view, the banded space links up the scattered offices volumes and make the whole architecture one piece.
