The house was built based on the needs of a small family with parents and two little sons. With a land area not too large - only 5 meters wide and 20 meters long, the problem to be solved is to create a living space with many natural elements: light, sunshine, wind, trees... at the request of the owner, reducing the narrowness and darkness of common tube houses in Vietnam
The entire 1st floor is the family's common space including: garden, yard, living room, dining, kitchen, besides to increase the connection with nature - the skylight is an important factor. The dining area is impressively placed in the middle of the skylight, helping the family reunion space receive a lot of attention.
The 2nd floor is a combination of common space and private space. The family room is located in the center of the 2nd floor, facing the light-filled skylight area. The altar room is located at the back of the 2nd floor, while the parents' bedroom with a private balcony is located on the front side. By the split-level space
combined with a large skylight in the center, the view between the connected spaces is maximized. The rhythm of moving between split-level floors is very interesting, with the change of space, light and trees, children can have fun and explore in their every step.
The 3rd floor is designed to suit the needs of working and playing for the whole family. A terrace garden is placed in the front connected to a multi-purpose room so that parents can work inside while watching the children play.
All private rooms are designed with an area just enough for needs, leaving the rest for the family's common space and spaces for voids, light and wind. The southeast wind coming in from the back garden of the 1st floor is cooled by the moisture of the trees, continuing to circulate to the front spaces and the skylight area. Hot air escapes through the ventilation brick opening close to the glass roof, keeping the indoor temperature in the summer at a comfortable level.
The house has a modern design that combines the use of traditional materials such as red roof tile, granito floor, art steel bar. The wall on one side of the skylight is painted in mint green, combined with the pure white of the granito stair riser, the green of the tree mixed with the light, creating a bright and vibrant space for the whole family.
