The Boracay Training Center will be established by a well-known educational institution in the country. The facility aims to provide sustainable employment opportunities to the local and indigenous community by providing life skills related to eco-tourism. The training programs also aims to provide continuous education and short courses to the staff of the existing hotels, lodges, restaurants and tour agencies.
The Site Development hopes to maximize the 3,000 sq.m lot by orienting the structures diagonally and organically.
The design of the structures will feature a modern vernacular interpretation of Aklan architecture. The development will feature a Training Center building which will house training rooms, multi-purpose halls and offices. The main "Pavilion" will be an iconic, elliptical "bahay kubo" and will house guest rooms for in-house and visiting trainors as well as practical laboratories. The building hopes to showcase local materials and furniture and promote climate conscious design.
