The concept using terraces/layers as the key element in our design, originated as an interpretation of one of the unique architectural / agricultural structures that appears in the Israeli desert, as well as in many cultures, manly Eastern ones.Natural terracing, can also be the result of small-scale erosion, formed where cattle graze on steep, sloping pasture in a regular fashion over long periods of time, resulting in formations that resemble artefacts. The variation of experiences and the option to choose is a core element in our plan, when we envisioned the life style of its inhabitants. The ability to choose, in each and every moment, being in an intimate and private ¬¬situation/surrounding and on the other hand, when desired, having pubic interactions and experiences.Creating spontaneous interactions and increasing the options to have new and surprising encounters is another key element in the complex plan. By integrating programmatic public elements and spaces, enriching the navigation and the situations in which the habitants could have those varied opportunities and opt¬ions. The complex is seen from the entrance of the project is a monumental building that blends in with the natural desert mountain landscape as its backdrop. At this vantage point, the element of layering used in the design is heightened as a function of the project natural desert location. The complex key element is terracing and therefore the project design and its complexities are revealed in a gradual and “layered” manner while using public and private break areas that reflect the clear an fluent understanding of its structure and spaces. Those break areas fragmenting the organic structure as a whole, and creating or allowing those explorations. The motif of exploration that is used emphasizes the elements of curiosity and awe with each breathing view seen from within and the complex as well as its surroundings. The gradient design of the complex rooftop is an additional point of interest due to its terraced structure, planned as green roofs, providing thermal buffering system. The first observable break area, is the entrance square, which leads to the inner interior division and to the next significant and public break area - the private complex’s swimming pool.
