The concept of the annex as an extension to house a large collection of books. The idea of concentrating was important for research and archiving. The design of the architecture emerges on path axes determined by its use.
The use of a grid in a metal structure with slender and lighter pieces allows for a language of linear strokes. The mobility of all the frames allows the integration of the architecture with its surroundings, opening space for cross ventilation and natural lighting.
Presence of wood on the bookshelves seeks to mark and enhance the horizontal planes and reinforce the presentation of the library as a prominent element.
