Conceived as a Book Cellar, this multidiscipline bookstore has launched a new corporate space image for their stores. This first prototype has a main concave vault that has been structured with columns that are geometrically reminiscent of solid concrete pillars. It has been built in native Chilean lumber. The idea of a high open space helps to liberate the perimeter for book stocking and classification. Defined by most users as a literary chapel the project underlines the variety of literature generating itself a true experience, as the space is inhabited.
Direct and undirect lighting has been used in order to generate the adequate ambient performance with warmth and clarity as a basic principal.
