Bonpoint is a high-end children’s clothing company with over 100 locations worldwide. As part of their US expansion, the Paris based company selected a 22,000 sf retail space in a landmarked building in Soho as their third NYC location. Spacesmith collaborated with their design team to establish the overall layout and customer experience. Spacesmith designed a space that flows through a succession of imaginative rooms filled with fantasy and interactive experiences.
The store is divided into three sections: girls, boys, and babies. Visible from the street, a life-sized doll house greets customers. The girl’s collection is bedroom-themed, accented with light, airy colors, allowing the Parisian inspired couture to stand out. The boy´s collection is housed in a brick room painted with earth tones and contains playful elements, including a punching bag and paper mache animals. Infant wear is found in a nursery style room that overlooks a garden inspired by traditional French landscaping.
Meticulous attention to detail and finishing are visible throughout the store. In the front display area, magnetic ceiling panels and hooks offer merchandising versatility. A variety of rugs adds warmth and comfort while simultaneously protecting the antique wood flooring. All in all, Bonpoint is a playground for children and adults alike, an extravagant space with impeccable style and imaginative ambiance.
