Bomonti Apartment The Bomonti Apartment that was designed in a narrow lot with a 4.5 m façade in Sisli Bomonti consists of six flats, including two rooms for each, in three different plan types with an area of 80 square meters for each; and an additional duplex roof flat which covers 150 square meters. The building, considered to be as a design of ergonomic efficiency and naturalness, was designed within an identity that is coherent with its environment as a sailboat though keeps the individuality by its readiness to leave the site anytime. The proposed façade organization was considered to be a model for the street, regarding the potential change of the neighboring buildings in future. The metal grids utilized not only for window blinds but also for flower pots, were used to provide dynamism for the façade that was dominated by blue colored surfaces and red cedar wood covering. The balcony railings and other details with materials in the interior space also have traces of naval architecture. A potential harmony with the surrounding buildings was allowed by avoiding to finish the façade with a separate profile or joint gaps on both sides. The longitudinal windows from floor to ceiling on the frontal façade ease to have enough daylight and air for the living room. The wooden parquetry was used on the floor to sustain the warm and natural atmosphere of the interior space. Solar panels used on the roof reduce the common electricity expenses of this small building
