The project focuses on the adaptive reuse of two traditional residential buildings—one of the Chios type and the other of the Rhodes type—representing distinct examples of Bodrum’s vernacular architectural heritage. Guided by the principles of architectural conservation, the design process emphasizes restoration interventions that respect the authenticity of the original construction techniques and material character. Through a sensitive integration of new functions, the buildings are reinterpreted as the Bodrum Sponge Museum, creating a spatial narrative that bridges local craftsmanship, cultural memory, and contemporary exhibition design. The project was commissioned by the Bodrum Municipality.
