This is a design for a decorative rail soon to be installed in the town of Waynesville, NC, by the ALLOY artisan group. This park is located on a prominent corner in the town and commemorates "the gateway to the Great Smokey Mountain National Park." The rail, which can be described as a mural in iron, is designed to celebrate the town's relationship to the surrounding mountain range. The design will be hand crafted through traditional blacksmithing techniques which have been developed in the area for centuries.
