Blue minimalism, design by Susanna Cots.
A home to enjoy the sea and the family.
Sea for cooking. Sea to rest. Sea for showering. Sea to share. The sea that resides in this second home on the Costa Brava was the main protagonist of the initial briefing for this project.
The starting point of the design was to encourage connection at all levels: between floors, between rooms, between all the members of this family of seven. A large space for many shared moments, where order is as important as pleasure.
Sea orientation in the day zone.
We enter this house through a wild garden, set back from the sea but with a view of the Mediterranean. It is the great sign of everything that will happen inside this house.
The kitchen and the living room share the same space without visual or physical barriers, extending the horizon towards the sea from any point.
The furniture, in white tones, accentuates the natural light and provides a sense of calm and order. The kitchen incorporates a functional and sophisticated central island, connected to an outdoor barbecue area to enjoy gastronomic moments with the family, always under the Mediterranean sun.
The visual and material continuity between the interior and the exterior creates a perfect harmony, a connection that does not end here, as on this main floor there is a suite and a guest bathroom that also open onto the area.
A private link to the Costa Brava in the relaxation area.
On the first floor, the design reaches its maximum splendour: a suite designed as a private and elegant space. The dressing room leads into the bathroom, where marble adds a touch of sophistication.
The shower, with a fixed glass wall, offers a unique experience: bathing with the sea as your travelling companion. The master bedroom, open and minimalist, allows the horizon to become the absolute protagonist.
On the lower level, designed for the little ones, there are three more suites and a family lounge. The showers, with small, strategically placed slits, keep the sea present even in the most intimate spaces.
White as an element of calm, functionality and balance.
The distribution that Susanna Cots plays with, as well as favouring family communication and exterior connection, is specially designed to seek balance, order and calm for this large family.
The wardrobes are perfectly integrated into the architecture, acting as room dividers, storage and even decorative elements.
The headboards of the bedrooms, in natural wood, have a groove that acts as a bedside table, a handcrafted and practical detail. Each element is designed to minimise maintenance and maximise well-being, creating a perfect balance between beauty and functionality.
In short, a project where the sea is not just a view; it is the soul of the house, the element that unites family, design and nature in a unique living experience.
