The clients are entrepreneurs and travelling enthusiasts, having a brief of explored places around the world, they wished to have an experience integrating memories. The house interprets a varied story of art.
The vernacular house, has robust construction and inwards pockets of courtyards that cater to social interaction and climate responsive planning. Façade of the house, features artistry joinery details of random stone cladding with stone slabs and tones of blue hues. Envelope of this structure, strikes combination of sloping roof profile and voluminous mass. Traditional mouldings, carvings in furniture artworks mark the depth of workmanship. Stone works on columns, mark the eye of detailing for the aesthetical upliftment.
For some greenery trails, landscape invites one to experience each pocket, differently with varied experience of seating’s, taking a dive into the pool or may be involve in some chit chats in the harmony of birds chirping. A sunken seating in the nature’s lap, can calm all the day’s stress. Insertion of gazebo, lets one find pleasure around from being connected to any side.
Finding art as the key element for this house, landscape captures the flow of undulating land mass with trees, shrubs, water bodies and colourful flowers. Flooring in forms of various material palette lets it, be felt as resort experience.
The house orients on 2 internal walkway passages at the ground level, like the double height veranda, double height temple, guest bedroom, family area and living room. An open kitchen layout, engages one to have nature connected on all sides while cooking. On the first floor, it connects to son’s bedroom, master bedroom and recreational - home theatre.
The dynamic interplay of light through large openings and courtyards, cast shadows as dramatic character. At times the occupants can enjoy rain, light, and breeze with the changing seasons as per comfort through automated roof coverings over them. Designing a timeless elegance from vernacular traditions, features like high ceilings, detailed mouldings, rich textures and ornamental features, add character to Indian craftsmanship, focusing on intricacy.
A new contemporary artistic flooring pops up. Compositions from customized Copico stone, engraved with patterned tiles, pebbles, define Moroccan motifs. Reliving the sensory touches, dynamic approach in the form of traditional acupressure, one enjoys walking on these, perceiving a resort based interiors.
An alcove, seating linking dining space, through Moroccan elements, lends a rustic charm to the space. An accent wall of this space, unveils the celebration of striking colours in tile patterns sculpted with mirror.
The design for master bedroom thoughtfully integrates an adaptable layout with its walk-in wardrobe setting. Calming blue colour, with rustic textures and sloping roof profile, reflects the Victorian era. Art and workmanship continue in every part of the house from rooms to daily activities area.
To have fun engaging concepts for son’s room, layout for bedroom and bathroom have delightful elements like spiral stairs, circular bed and window seating in the backdrop. Having son’s excitement, to explore his bathing space in different way, a new approach of curvilinear central space has been inserted. Music binds this young user, where customized mosaic art for the whole bathroom has showcased beautifully. Mirror plays as an interactive ready to go dressing for occasions.
