River boat
gambling was taken to a new level as the Michigan City Indiana Casino, Blue
Chip set out for a large scale expansion project. The addition features a 22 story hotel tower
with an event convention space, conference/meeting rooms, a 10,000 square foot spa,
and 302 upscale guest rooms.
The front of
the original casino was revamped with a drive up port cochere entry to the main
lobby, which showcases beautiful interior spaces shown through the glass front
along the driveway. The structure simply
sparkles at night from skylight cutouts that house large scale chandeliers
covered with a bell shaped shades which glow from color changing linear LED
fixtures tucked in a cove around the skylight.
The tower
shows off its unique blue-green glass with a soft glow of uplight at the bottom
and a blue LED line of light that defines the curved glass on the main
structure. White linear LED fixtures were used to accentuate
the vertical banding on the side tower and around the back portion of the
tower. The concrete top portion features LED color changing uplights to wash
the surface with a splash of color that can be seen for miles around the town.
