One man said: „We should ask us, why our buildings don't look more interesting. “ The same "problem" covers all the other things too. BLOCK/ isn't an ordinary sculpture, it's more functional then it looks. In fact it‘s a switchboard case made out of fireproof drywall. This makes a simple shape of cuboid 2 x 2,5 m and 2,75 m high. These dimensions are based on safety zones around the switchboard. In terms of look, a task was to create some minimalistic design which will dominate a bit of an old industrial space, where it’s placed. Result of this is a cuboid cut by plane at lower section. Especially this position of slanting cut makes that mass so dominate. The effect is pounded by added multicolour LED strip. Thanks to this strip BLOCK/ also serves as relating point of that space. Nowadays this space is transforming into a cultural centre/ gallery/ concert hall.
