Design concept is "Patina"(Itary) In other words,it is a beautiful and attractive appearance created by years long change. The site had somewhat a desolation, surrounded by comparatively new buildings and heavy traffic,when it is viewed as landscape.What are extremely lacked in the view of this residential place are buildings which should be center of the site in the point of aged intensity such as temples and churches.As texture and impression, we felt a need to be able to build up the beauty of quality and favorable appearance as Patina, to be created in the couce of time in this dry town.In order to aquire a reason of existence like Patina,we intended to make buildings recognized as one of "blocks" by eliminating the front and the back. The first floor is in piroti style, and elevated building has a massive touch of feeling adversely. Those slant pillars extended towatd outside as well as piroti ceiling in the shape of bottom of ship visualizes the massiveness further.In addition,we arranged a courtyard with a basin in the "block". The courtyard is full of comfortable sound of fall dropping on water surface, and excluding noise from outside thoroughfare.
